Some Good News For Movie Lovers, Finally

Here is a piece of good news the movie for movie lovers, who have been waiting for it for a long time. Buzz is that the theatres are likely to open soon.

Getting into details, it is heard that the ministry is planning to open the theatres for movie screening from August. It is only a speculation and according to that, August first week could be the time.

However, the opening comes with a catch. The theatres have to run with half the capacity, i.e. fifty percent occupancy. The management is already prepared for it. Recently they even came up with a screening sheet to showcase how the patrons would be watching movies, post the resumption.

It is the other detail that is emerging, which could be a bigger issue, especially for the medium to high budget flicks. The government is thinking to initially allow theatres to screen a movie for three shows only.

Combing fifty percent occupancy with three shows per day will significantly reduce the gross of a movie. It means a definite loss in revenue for biggies if word of mouth is not good. A liked movie can always bet in the long run, though, to overcome the shortfall.

All these are only talks so far. A final decision will be made in the coming days. As far as Telugu cinema is concerned, the biggies had discussions with Minister of Cinematography, Talasani Srinivas Yadav. The various proposals have been heard.
