In the past few weeks leading up to the release of Spyder more effort has been put into marketing it in Tamil compared to Telugu. If is a fact that many fans of the star are complaining about lack of publicity of Spyder in Telugu.

From the point of view of the star and producers, the Tamil market is obviously important and the movie does need to be marketed as Mahesh Babu would be making his Tamil debut and the film could help him penetrate into core Tamil audience. But should it come at the cost of local market? That is the problem with fans here. What is even problematic is Spyder has another biggie to deal with in Telugu. There will be comparisons galore and when that happens Tamil version would be immaterial.

So far the buzz on Spyder is Telugu is low. The makers have got a hike in ticket prices and the US looks huge. If the talk is not up to that mark there could be a huge disappointment on cards and lack of awareness could be a major factor locally. Let us see what Spyder unit does in the coming two days to change the scenario.
