Ever since the announcement of release date, there was a fear among fans concerning the release. The teaser and trailers didn’t help the cause either. A mid-week release with very little promotions meant the film had to have a great talk. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and now, it feels as if all the negatives have come together.
The openings show a combination of all the negative factors coming together. Spyder has got around 16 Cr (lower than DJ) opening which is terrible by account. Weak promotions and word of mouth, an unfavorable presentation of the genre by AR Murugadoss is taking Spyder towards disaster status. Unless there is a dramatic pick up over the weekend, Spyder is all set to become another Brahmotsavam for Mahesh Babu. Let us see if there is any change.
