One Small Film Turns Right Tonic For Tollywood

Kiran Abbavaram’s SR Kalyanamandapam is emerging as the first hit of the Telugu film industry after the COVID second wave. The movie which was released last Friday has got disappointing reviews with critics dubbing it as half-baked content. But then, a couple of songs were massive chartbusters and they have pulled the crowds to the theaters.

Despite the adverse conditions in the theaters particularly in Andhra Pradesh, the movie has collected around 4 Crore Share from both the Telugu states. It will enter the profits zone in a day or two. This is a feat that was not possible for known heroes like Satyadev and Teja Sajja.

This success is vital for the Telugu film industry because it has induced confidence in the small films about the box office prospects. Immediately after the first day of the movie release, we have seen many films announcing their arrival. The positivity has pushed someone like Dil Raju to release his Paagal.

The medium-budget films are still playing the waiting game. But this has been a positive first step.
