Star hero shot with militants for authenticity

Some directors never give up their stubbornness to shoot in real locations and people to give authenticity to their movie. That’s really commendable. But if the director makes a star hero shoot with militants of an extremist group for the sake of genuineness, then it’s something like shocking.

Director Kabir Khan of ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’ fame is ready with his next movie ‘Phantom’ which also touches one biggest Indo-Pak issue, ‘Terrorism’ in the wake of Mumbai attacks and especially the terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s alleged involvement in the terror attacks. While shooting for the film, Kabir somehow got the real militants.

These militants weren’t from the Pakistan based militant groups but from the Lebanese extremist faction Hezbollah. The hero of ‘Phantom’, Saif Ali Khan came to know the fact only when shooting scenes with them while he got to talk to one of the militant playing an extra in the film.

Gosh! That was a crude shock to the star hero and also to the audiences as well. And one can imagine the furore the film is going to create after release because Kabir Khan took almost direct references to the leaders of terrorists groups who are spreading terror in India.
