All the while, Tamil superstar Vijay had been one of the most proactive stars in Tamil cinema. He is bigger than any other name in the Tamil film industry and Vijay too has been taking adequate care of the same.
The trend thus far has been such that Vijay always manages to sign young and budding directors like Lokesh Kanagaraj and Nelson for his films. He then used to bring in Anirudh to compose the music which worked very well.
But in the case of GOAT which is supposedly his last film before he turns active in politics, Vijay took many aspects carelessly, it appears.
Right from the script, the director, and the musical works, Vijay’s consistency went missing. Though Venkat Prabhu is an able director and Yuvan Shankar Raja is a supremely gifted musician, Vijay’s current image didn’t bide well with either of them.
Vijay, who had been carefully planning all his films in the recent past has gone rather dull and timid with this new outing, it seems.
That being said, GOAT has opened to all-time top 3 numbers in the Tamil market and it is working in the Tamil-speaking prospects globally despite the weak promotions. This is a result of Vijay’s consistency in the recent years.
