Star Hero’s Ex-wife Surrenders To Vanga

Kiran Rao, director and former wife of Aamir Khan, has expressed interest in watching Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s last film, Animal.

In a recent interview, Rao acknowledged Animal’s success and positive reception from audiences. The conversation stemmed from her discussion about her own directorial venture, Laapataa Ladies.

Reflecting on the acclaim received by Laapataa Ladies, Rao expressed gratitude for the love it has received, noting that even critics have appreciated it. She observed that while today’s audiences often shower love on action-packed, VFX-heavy films like Animal, critical acclaim may not always align with popular taste.

Rao confessed her desire to watch Animal, citing its huge box office success as a testament to its appeal. She mentioned Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s reputed craftsmanship and praised Ranbir Kapoor’s acting skills, expressing anticipation for an intriguing viewing experience.

This interest in Animal follows Rao’s advocacy for gender sensitivity in films during a 2023 session, where she highlighted stereotypical portrayals of women and LGBTQ+ characters on screen, referencing films like Kabir Singh.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga responded to Rao’s earlier comments in an interview, reigniting discussions about Aamir Khan’s past films, such as Dil, and their controversial elements.

In a subsequent conversation, Kiran Rao clarified that her remarks on gender sensitivity were not directed specifically at Sandeep’s work. She emphasized that she had not seen Vanga’s films and distanced herself from being held accountable for her ex-husband’s cinematic choices.
