Star Hero’s Film Goes Directly To OTT

In a surprising development, popular Malayalam hero Dulquer Salmaan‘s upcoming film, Salute which was on course for theatrical release has taken a u-turn and it is heading for direct to OTT release now.

As per the latest updates, Salute is on course for direct to OTT release this month. The film’s direct to OTT rights were acquired by Sony Liv.

The trailer of Salute had garnered a good response from the Malayalam audience. The decision to go for direct to OTT release is drawing a mixed response from the Mallu crowd.

Salute is billed to be an edge of the seat investigative action thriller, a genre better suited for a theatrical experience. But that won’t be the case as the film will be arriving on Sony Liv. At a time when the majority of the cinema theatres across the country have re-opened, it is interesting to see a star hero like Dulquer Salman’s film to go the OTT way.

The film is directed by Rosshan Andrrew and it has Dulquer playing the role of a cop. As mentioned, the film is likely to arrive on Sony Liv towards the end of this month. The OTT premieres date will be made official soon.
