Statue for Tamil superstar

Fans of Tamil actor Vijay on Sunday unveiled a wax statue of their star at a theatre in Chennai. The statue was sponsored by Facebook Vijay Fans Club. Most actors have statue for themselves only after their death, but this is a rare privilege for the actor who is already being considered as the next superstar after Rajinikanth.

Members of the club Sunday unveiled the statue, reportedly worth about Rs.1.5 lakh, at the Vettri theatre here. Vijay is riding high on the blockbuster success of Tamil actioner “Kaththi”, which released Oct 22. It raked in over Rs.30 crore in its opening weekend worldwide.
