Story Behind ‘Vyjayanthi’ Name Finally Revealed

Vyjayanthi Movies is one banner which has seen it all. The ace production house has been taking things slowly for quite some time but they hit back with a hit film recently in the form of Nani’s Yevade Subramanyam.

Swapna Dutt, daughter of Aswini Dutt is a prominent face in this set up and she has taken the mantle of carrying the legacy forward. Speaking in an interview, she revealed some interesting facts about how her banner was named Vyjayanthi.

Swapna revealed that her father once went to meet senior NTR in chennai and asked whether he would act in his banner. Surprised by this, NTR asked him back as to what would be the name of your banner on which he would make his films in his career.

A shocked Dutt did not have an answer and seeing his confusion, NTR showed him a nearby poster of lord Krishna and said that he should name is banner Vyjayanthi like the garland which is in Lord Krishna’s neck.

And that is how the banner was formed and is called with name Vyjayanthi till date. Even the logo has the picture of Krishna which is continued even by their children.
