The biggest issue here is the clash with another pan-India biggie and most keenly awaited sequel KGF: Chapter 2. It is also planned to hit the cinemas for Christmas. However, an official confirmation is still awaited, though.
Imagine a scenario where both the films arrive at the same time, it could be suicidal for Pushpa as KGF 2 has a far bigger buzz. The most significant thing to consider here is that both are aimed at the masses. It will, therefore, not just be a clash of movies, but they will be vying for the attention of the same audience.
If we look at only the Telugu states, obviously Pushpa will be the first choice. But, here too KGF 2 is eagerly awaited by the masses. A similar target audience will be a problem here as well more so because Allu Arjun is also working hard to impress them. Pushpa is the biggest mass movie in his career.
Similarly, KGF 2 is expecting huge numbers in Telugu states. The business expectations of the movie suggest so. It too can’t afford a clash. Is Pushpa’ announcement an indirect hint at its arrival, then? And what about Akhil’s Agent? It has also locked the Christmas release. There are a lot of issues to look at here.
We have to wait and see how things pan out eventually for these (Pushpa, and KGF2) pan India biggie. A clash will be suicidal for sure for one of them.
