For medium budget and small films, reviews and word of mouth play a crucial role in spreading the right kind of buzz and if the content turns out to be good, there would be no looking back. Akkineni hero Sumanth caught the right track regarding the role of reviews and reviewers.

He is concerned about the reviews for his films as they are the important means to attract audiences to theatres. Especially, remake movies suffer a lot because they can in no way match the original and most of the reviewers and critics would have watched the original and thus, compare and contrast the remake movie.

When it comes to remaking Bollywood movies, Sumanth took the example of ‘Band Baaja Bharaat’ remakes in Telugu and how they tanked big time. Even his ‘Naruda Donaruda’, the official remake of ‘Vicky Donar’ suffered the same fate as it was compared with the original which was anyway better. But, in the case of Malayalam remakes, it’s a safe game as the originals would have been rarely watched by the reviewers and critics.
