Superstar’s Next Titled Darbar, Avoids Petta Mistake

Here it is, the title of Superstar Rajinikanth’s new film, his 167th, is officially out. It is called Darbar and Rajinikanth will be seen playing the role of a cop after decades. A whacky first look poster is also out with the tagline – You Decide Whether You Want Me To Be Good, Bad Or Worse.

Darbar marks the first time combination of AR Murugadoss and Rajinikanth. It has been a dream combo for fans for a long time. Nayanthara plays the heroine, and Anirudh who worked on Petta will continue as the music director.

Also, an important thing to notice here is the release date. The makers, Lyca Productions, have targeted a Pongal 2020 release. It is the first biggie to confirm the time. In the past, there was a lot of criticism over Petta arriving in the eleventh hour for the festival and leading to the clash. In the case of Darbar, if there is a clash, it would be the other side’s decision to make now.

In Telugu, the next film of Superstar Mahesh Babu with Anil Ravipudi is planned as a Sankranthi 2020 release. Also, Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s next with Trivikram Srinivas is likely to arrive at the same time. Let’s see if they give an official confirmation.
