Tamil star appeals to the Prime Minister

Popular Tamil Star Ilayathalapathi Vijay is slowly turning into a leader of sorts keeping in tune with the tag of ‘Ilayathalapathi’ that he has. He is among the few actors who had met the then Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and openly supported his leadership. Now the actor is taking this association forward being part of film fraternity.

Today the star wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi urging him to look into the Sales Tax aspect of the film industry. He says that the film industry is giving lot to the government through entertainment taxes and other taxes and so the government should also give back a little. The sales tax is killing the industry by having a huge impact on the theaters and other chain down the line. This tax has been levied by the previous government. Let us see how the government reacts to the actor’s appeal.
