A small Tamil straight movie ‘Namma Veettu Pillai’ starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Pandiraj has been dominating the single screens. When we compare it to ‘Baahubali 2’ Tamil dubbing version, ‘Sye Raa’ couldn’t get 30% of Baahubali 2 collections.
There seems to be no interest on the Tamil dubbing version among the audiences when compared to the Telugu version. There is an opinion that Tamil audiences are silently sidelining Telugu movies like ‘Saaho’ and ‘Sye Raa‘.
It’s not just the content, the disinterestedness on movies from Telugu can be seen right from the advance bookings denting into opening day collections as the bookings weren’t even 60% in the prime screens.
