Number Plates change posing big challenge!

The latest decision of Telangana government to change the registration numbers of vehicles registered before June 2nd, 2014 pose a major challenge to the RTA officials in the state. There are 74 Lakh such vehicles in the state which are to be changed now. The government is giving time more than four months to get these changes done.

Whatever the time may be, it is always a challenge for 49 RTA offices in the state. There are as such 1440 employees working in the 49 offices and of them more than 400 posts are vacant. This will mean that these 1040 odd employees should make this Registration number change hassle free.

This totally looks impossible even on paper and will make things totally complicated. Moreover more than 40 Lakh of this 74 Lakh vehicles are in GHMC limits which will make things further difficult. This may also lead to increase of corruption as well. The state government will have to come up with many answers when they come up with the procedure of the registration numbers change.
