His wife of years Sangeetha has filed for divorce in the Chengalpattu family court. In her petition, Sangeetha has accused Vijay of having an extra-marital affair (with an actress). Though she did not mention the name, speculations are rife on social media ever since the news broke.
A Tamil BJP leader too alleged Thalapathy Vijay of having a relationship with Trisha, only to publicly apologise later. But the divorce matter comes at a time when political parties are trying to gauge Vijay’s popularity to woo him into an alliance.
There is immense pressure on Vijay to fight out the upcoming elections single-handedly though the BJP is trying hard to get him into their camp.
His divorce issue has shocked his fans though some feel they saw it coming. However, his fans are concerned about all the mud-slinging that will happen as Sangeetha will surely fight it out for her share of property and children.
