Hollywood Copying Telugu Movies on OTT Now?

The Flatshare, an English comedy series streaming on Jio Cinema, has caught attention not just for its unique premise but also for its uncanny resemblance to a 2002 Telugu classic.

The show follows two strangers who share a flat on a time-split schedule, never meeting each other but communicating through post-it notes as they navigate their lives and relationships.

For Telugu cinema fans, this instantly brings back memories of Aunu Valliddaru Ishta Paddaru, directed by Vamsy.

The film, which won multiple awards, including the Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award, revolves around Anil (Ravi Teja) and Swathi (Kaveri), who live in the same space without interfering in each other’s lives.

What starts as a practical arrangement soon turns into a heartwarming romance through exchanged letters. With music composed by Chakri, the film remains a beloved classic.

The similarities haven’t gone unnoticed. Social media is buzzing with fans jokingly asking, “So, Hollywood has started remaking Telugu movies now?”

While the resemblance might be coincidental, it’s fun to see how a Telugu film from two decades ago shares such a strikingly similar concept with a modern international series!
