GOAT Was Rejected by U.S. Telugus – Breakdown

Vijay is a mass star in Tamil cinema, and even his below-average or average content usually generates massive box office numbers in Tamil Nadu.

However, his recent film GOAT – The Greatest of All Time faced outright rejection from Telugu audiences in the U.S. and North America.

Looking at the breakdown, the Telugu version has collected $119K so far, while the Tamil version has earned $2.3 million, clearly indicating how the film was rejected by Telugus in the U.S.

Moreover, Telugu audiences tend to be more critical, so it’s not surprising they rejected a routine, weak-content film like GOAT.

Even if Telugu MS students were excited, GOAT could have posted a decent sum, but that’s not the case here.

Director Venkat Prabhu missed a big opportunity by delivering a film like GOAT with a star like Vijay, who is at the peak of his stardom.
