They Expected More Fun – Maruthi

The film has come with good expectations but ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu‘ couldn’t live up to the expectations. Talking about the film after release, besides expressing his happiness over the opening collections, director Maruthi said that audiences expected more fun and comedy from him.

Certainly, he understood that the movie has been receiving mixed responses. However, he misunderstood the audience’s verdict. What’s actually missing is an interesting story to make the comedy portions work for the story. If he thinks that working on fun moments could have been more productive, he is making a mistake again.

As we wrote, he has turned formulaic and has become adept at writing comedy blocks, separately. Though the openings are good, in fact record openings surpassing his earlier films, ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ is the weakest among his movies writing wise. Hope, he understands this and builds up on a new formula that would work in terms of the content.
