Theaters Removing This Sankranthi Release Already!

Thala Ajith’s latest heist thriller Thunivu has been dubbed into Telugu as Thegimpu and was released on January 11th. The trade experts believed that the collections on its first day would be decent as Vijay’s Vaarasudu got postponed to the 14th.

But due to bad reviews and no excitement among the Telugu audience for an Ajith film, the collections on its first day in Telugu states were dismal, despite it being a big solo festival release.

Yesterday’s release, Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, is going all guns blazing at the box office, and Thegimpu is already being replaced by Balayya’s film. Despite the mixed talk, the film ran at record-level occupancies all over last night. The film is almost certain to become the highest opening day grosser for Balakrishna.

Today’s release Waltair Veerayya will also get some more screens and get the benefit of Thegimpu’s no-show at the box office.
