The Spy Universe is considered to be the biggest franchise in Bollywood. All the films starting from Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War have been blockbusters. The last film in the universe Pathaan was an all-time blockbuster which released this year.
Now the latest instalment Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan is releasing during Diwali. But surprisingly the buzz for the film is low. It is decent but not on the levels which was expected.
Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan is making a cameo in the climax of the film. There are also possibilities of introducing new characters from upcoming films like WAR 2 in Tiger 3.
On top of that action films like Pathaan, Gadar 2, and Jawan have been doing well. So in an ideal case, the hype for Tiger 3 should have been sky high but it is not the case.
The average trailer, poor director, Salman’s lost form, and lackluster music could be the reasons the film isn’t red hot on the ground level. But the trade expects that the buzz of the film will increase as the release date approaches and full-fledged advance bookings are opened.
The BookMyShow interests recently crossed 250K which is also nothing extraordinary for such a big film. The advance bookings for Tiger 3 have been opened in a few centers overseas and the response is pretty ordinary.
Tiger 3 is releasing on Sunday, November 12, which is very rare for any Indian film. Pathaan was released on Wednesday (non-holiday) and collected Rs. 57 crores net on its first day which was a record then. We have to see if Tiger 3 can cross that figure on its opening day.
