Sankranthi 2020 has brought in the much-needed cheer for the Tollywood Trade. Both the films – Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru have minted huge money bringing a positive start to the new year. This festive season also indicated at a booming mark for Tollywood.

Uttarandhra seems to be consistently growing into a Huge market for Telugu film. Both the Sankranthi biggies together collected about Rs 36 crore share in just 14 days. The major plus point of Uttarandhra is that along with Urban areas of Vishakapatnam, the semi-urban and rural areas are also equally contributing to the film collections.

Probably, this is the reason why Tollywood filmmakers are focusing on their film promotions in Vishakapatnam as well in recent years. The market may further increase if the current Andhra Pradesh’s plans of shifting the Capital to Vishakapatnam materialize.

Once it is done, we will also see more penetration of Multiplexes into Port City which will increase its market potential further.
