60 Cr the new ‘Hit’ benchmark for Tollywood?

Just few years back there were not many films that had gone past the 40 Cr mark. It was therefore seen as a massive achievement for a film crossing this mark. Today, a film that crosses this mark isn’t considered even a hit. And it’s the same story at 50 Cr as we saw with Son of Satyamurthy.

Now post the monstrous and historic success of Baahubali has the bar been raised to 60 Cr. Was Srimanthudu an indication towards that? As we all know Srimanthudu has crossed 70 Cr mark worldwide, are we looking at a futuristic scenario where big heroes will cross this mark regularly?

To make the point even clear some of the films mentioned here have crossed the 40 Cr mark in first week itself. However to start a new club or benchmark, we need to have more films and proof in terms of numbers.

Right now one can only assume but a clear idea is likely to emerge post the release of new film of Ram Charan for sure. If that film too crosses the 60 Cr barrier, one could be sure that it is a new benchmark to be had in the awake of Baahubali storm.
