TFI Will Not Change, And It’s A ‘Kracking’ Good News

When the film industries across the countries were reeling with the repercussions of the first Covid-19 wave, Telugu cinema showed the way with a blockbuster response at the cinemas. It looks like Telugu Film Industry won’t change in the post second wave scenario, as well. And It’s good news for the film industry.

Come Sunday, June 13th, the first screening of a movie will happen in cinemas in Andhra Pradesh. It will be the first theatrical exhibition of any kind in India as the number of cases comes down in the second wave.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Krack will be screened at Jagadamba, Vizag from June 13th. It will be only one show per day (Noon Show) as the permission currently is only up to afternoon. The bookings are available online with reduced occupancy. In the past, too, Vizag screened Nithiin’s Bheeshma after the first wave subsidised.

We will get an actual response later, but the screening suggests that Telugu cinema will lead the way again. Once the cases come to the lowest, we may see theatres becoming operational all over with restrictions in place.

Post the second wave horror; the industry fears a lot about how things would shape out. Krack’s early screening would give us an idea. Who knows, a few more re-runs might follow it. If the audience shows up, it will strengthen the resolve of many productions raring to go.
