Tollywood Producer’s Guild Drops 2 Key Updates

As M9.news had hinted earlier today, Tollywood Producer’s Guild has announced that the ongoing strike is being called off.

Senior producer C Kalyan has announced that film shootings will resume from the 1st of September, putting an end to the shootings strike that lasted exactly a month. In urgent cases, producers can apply with the Film chamber and start shoots from 25th August.

Speaking about the VPF charges, Dil Raju dropped a big update. “The theatres owned by myself, Geetha Arts, and NV Prasad will not charge VPF from exhibitors and producers initially. We are in last round talks and a conclusion on the VPF charges will be drawn soon.”

The Guild had already announced that a strict 8-week no OTT rule will be enforced for all new releases. Also, there will be no more day-wise payments for actors. They will be paid for a film, as a whole.

With the majority of the issues resolved, Tollywood is gearing up to resume shoots from the 1st of September. The first biggie to resume shoot will be NBK107 as the Turkey schedule will commence from the 26th of this month.
