Tollywood Silent On CBN: Suresh Babu Responds

It has been 10 days since TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was sent on remand to Rajahmundry Central Jail. But barring a few Tollywood personalities, not many have reacted on the issue.

There has been a talk that Tollywood is playing a safe game while a man who has done so much for the industry and its people has been arrested under questionable circumstances.

Now, M9 has asked veteran producer Suresh Babu about Tollywood’s silence on Chandababu’s arrest, and here’s what he had to say.

“The film industry, as a body has been a non-political entity. It has been that way for many decades. We might have individual political opinions. But as a body, the film industry has to stay politically and religiously neutral. We can’t make any comments on the political developments in the Telugu states” Suresh Babu stated.

“If we make any comment now, then we will be expected to comment on every political incident in the future which isn’t a good practice. The film industry didn’t respond during the AP-TS bifurcation either. We will not respond on CBN issue either as it is a very sensitive topic” He further pointed out.
