US BO: Will Saripodhaa Sanivaaram Beat Dasara?

Nani’s latest film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, is off to a strong start in the US, with premiere pre-sales reaching $348,974.

This impressive figure has already made it Nani’s second-highest premiere grosser, surpassing MCA. The question now is whether it can surpass the $639K premiere record set by Dasara.

Dasara was a significant milestone for Nani, marking his biggest opening for a medium-budget film at the US box office. Now, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is poised to challenge that record.

With pre-sales approaching $350K, the film is in a strong position, but its success will ultimately depend on the word of mouth from early viewers.

Even if Saripodhaa Sanivaaram doesn’t surpass Dasara’s numbers, it is still a big number and the pre-sales reflect strong demand for Nani’s films in the US.

The film’s pre-release business is estimated at around ₹45 crores, with a target of ₹80-90 crores worldwide gross to break even.

Nani has chosen to release Saripodhaa Sanivaaram on a Thursday, which is unusual, especially during a non-holiday week. Opting for such a release date indicates a strong confidence in the film’s content.

This strategy could pay off if the early reactions from U.S. premieres, set to begin at noon, are positive. The initial audience response will be crucial in determining whether this gamble will help Saripodhaa Sanivaaram outperform Dasara records or not.
