Tollywood’s Double Standard On Pawan Kalyan

It is an open secret that the government of Andhra Pradesh is targeting Pawan Kalyan. This was evident when the state government capped the cinema ticket prices on the very same day as Vakeel Saab’s release. Pawan later spoke out against the same and demanded the government not to interfere with the film industry.

But for some reason, Tollywood is not lending its support to Pawan. Even while Posani made derogatory comments on Pawan, Tollywood didn’t show much of a reaction. But now, Tollywood bigwigs are taking a moral high ground.

Reportedly, in the Producers Guild meeting that was held today, Telugu producers urged the makers of Pawan’s Bheemla Nayak to postpone the film’s release. The makers of Bheemla Nayak were told big-budget films like RRR and Radhe Shyam are releasing next Sankranthi and it would be considerate to make way for them.

Well, Tollywood didn’t react when Pawan Kalyan was being subject to untoward hate from all quarters and facing the wrath of Andhra Pradesh government. But cut to now, everyone wants to take a moral high ground, saying Pawan’s Bheemla Nayak should make way for big-budget films.

The makers of Bheemla Nayak reportedly cited the ‘Vakeel Saab’ example, saying their film might be targeted by the government if it gets a solo release. The final call on the release slot is yet to be taken.
