Top star to lose Padmasri?

It is being said that one of the top Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, husband of heroine Kareena Kapoor, may well be stripped off his Padmasri award. The reason for this development traces back to a brawl that the star was involved in few years ago.

An RTI activist has filed a petition to the central government asking them to strip the actor of this honour for the dishonour the actor had brought to it by his public behaviour. Three years ago Saif Ali Khan had a big showdown at Taj Hotel with one of the customers. It became a big news back then with the actor being mostly targeted for his disrespectful behaviour.

Awards like the Padmasri comes with responsibility and people receiving them are meant to uphold its sanctity. Even in Telugu film industry we had a case where the award was to be revoked for its misuse.
