Yash reflects after Toxic's release
Toxic has been a painful chapter for Yash and his team. But the actor’s response to the failure appears far more mature than some of the reactions from his fan base.
In a recent interview, actor and dubbing supervisor Jaidev Mohan spoke about the film’s difficult journey, the massive piracy problem and his conversation with Yash after the release.
Jaidev revealed that around 300,000 piracy links were reportedly removed within the first 10-12 days of Toxic. He said he had never seen piracy on this scale in his career. The film had taken more than four and a half years to make, with nearly 6,000 people credited. So, the poor result was naturally painful for the entire team.
Jaidev also accepted that Toxic received very mixed reactions and failed to connect with audiences as expected. He said the film had a layered screenplay but did not use that as an excuse. The audience is the final judge, and if they did not like the film, the team has to accept it.
This is where Yash’s response becomes interesting.
Jaidev revealed that Yash called him after the release and told him not to remain emotionally stuck with the result. The message was simple. They had done their job with dedication, but the film did not work with the audience. There was no point sitting in disappointment. They had to focus on what comes next.
That attitude is important because Toxic has seen plenty of explanations after its failure. Some blamed piracy, while others argued that the audience’s IQ was low and that they could not understand the film. Yash, however, reportedly chose a different approach. He did not blame the audience or attack people who disliked the film. He simply accepted that the audience did not like it and respected the audience verdict.
Some fans may continue defending Toxic. That is their choice. But a star has to separate personal disappointment from professional reality.
That is the attitude of a star who knows that one failure should never decide his future.
