Transition period favoring criminals in T State!

Telangana government’s decision to change the registration numbers of old vehicles are likely to come as an advantage to the situation. The high security registration plates are still not being implemented. The Police worry that criminals may take advantage of the transition period and replace the numbers to evade police.

Police say the situation can be avoided only if the High Security Number Plates are only implemented for old vehicles too. The numbers change have to be implemented in the database of insurance companies. Otherwise, the insurance companies may not honour claims if the old vehicles are met with accidents.

There are 74 Lakh such vehicles in the state which should change their registration numbers. Recently the government made it manadatory of photograph on Registration Cards. So the vehicle owners themselves have to come to the RTA offices for the photographs and wait in queues for hours.
