First Direct Clash Of OTT & Theater: Trade And Industry Anxious!

It looks like Tollywood may be in for the first clash on OTT. Reports are that Nani’s Tuck Jagadish and Nithin’s Maestro are likely to be pitted against each other by their OTT Giants in the first half of September. Both the movies are expected to release more or less at the same time as Vinayaka Chaviti Special.

The official announcements will be out soon. Maestro will have its trailer release on the 23rd of this month at 5 PM. The release date will be out with the trailer. Tuck Jagadish is also starting its promotions in a day or two. This will be not just a clash of two films on OTT.

Naga Chaitanya‘s Love Story is releasing on September 10th in theaters. It will be the first time we will see a clash between films on OTT and theaters. With all three films being notable releases, it will be interesting to see what can be the impact of the OTT releases on the theatrical box office.

If at all, the impact is felt the voices against OTT will only become intense from here. It is also interesting to note that Love Story, the theatrical release in question is produced by Suniel Narang, the Hon. Secretary of Telangana Film Chamber which has been vehemently opposing Direct-To-OTT releases.
