Unbreakable Record: Ten Flops In A Row

Taapsee Pannu, despite her talent, has faced a string of failures at the box office. Her recent projects, including collaborations with top stars and acclaimed directors, have all struggled to make a mark.

Her streak of underperforming films began with Thappad in 2020, directed by Anubhav Sinha. Since then, movies like Rashmi Rocket, Loop Lapeta, Shabaash Mithu, Dobaara, Tadka, and Blur have also failed to impress audiences and critics alike.

Even though her Netflix film, Haseen Diruba, attracted a huge number of views, the reviews were just average. Her most ambitious project, Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by the legendary Rajkumar Hirani, also did not meet the expectations of Pathaan or Jawan at the box office.

Now, the sequel to Hasseen Dillruba, titled Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, has been released on Netflix. Unfortunately, the reviews for this sequel are pretty horrible.

While the original Hasseen Dillruba had a mixed reception, it benefited from being one of the few OTT options available at the time, which helped its success on Netflix.

With a now-saturated streaming market and a flood of new content, the sequel is unlikely to make a significant impact, even if initial numbers appear promising.
