Unexpected Acclaim For Ram Charan But Fans Disappointed!

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is creating havoc not only in Karnataka but its Telugu version is also doing superb business. The Hindi version started slowly in the Northern belts but that too has picked up big time on its second day. Trade experts expect that the film’s momentum won’t slow down till Diwali is over.

There have been rave reviews all over that the film’s opening and climax are simply superb and many have liked the ‘divine’ element in the film.

However, the story has taken a different twist in Tollywood. In fact, the fans of Ram Charan are going berserk on social media, trying to point out that the much-hyped Kantara is a mishmash of the Sukumar-directed Rangasthalam. The backdrop, the story, and the main plot twist are also inspired by Rangastahalam, says Twitterati.

Suddenly, Rangasthalam is once again in limelight. Mega fans are saying that even though Kantara is brilliant, no one can deny its uncanny resemblance to Rangasthalam, barring the ‘demigod’ element.

Rangasthalam was an industry hit at the time of its release but Mega fans are feeling a bit disappointed that if Rangasthalam had been released now, the film would have gained more appreciation and accolades.

It’s true that South films are ruling the roost nowadays and stories soaked in our nativity and culture are being lapped by the audience not just in the South but on a pan-India level. Maybe Rangasthalam would have made a much bigger impact had it been released in today’s times.
