US BO: Two Washouts Weighing Heavily

Right from Sankranthi except for Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer ‘F2: Fun & Frustration’, no movie seems to be making an impact at the moment. One can’t imagine the plight of the US buyers who bought the movies that performed dismally at the box-office, this year. If those movies were not enough, Valentine’s Day releases have added to their woes.

According to the latest figures from the US, two movies that came on Valentines Day aka wink Girl Priya Prakash Varrier’s ‘Lovers Day’ and Karthi-Rakul’s ‘Dev’ are going to be complete washouts at the US box-office. Karthi’s ‘Dev’ is running towards becoming a big disaster with both Tamil and Telugu gross together is just $31 K plus till date while ‘Lovers Day’ could not even reach $ 2 K dollars for three days.

Both films had a mid-week release and both are dubbed movies. The fate of these movies was the same not only in the US but also in the Telugu States. Even the original movies in their respective languages disappointed the audiences, big time. Especially, Oru Adhaar Love’ that was in the buzz because of Priya Prakash’s wink act just fizzled out.
