December has been quite interesting for the Indian Cinema, with films like Animal, Hi Nanna, and Sam Bahadur. It is soon to turn into a cinematic battleground with the much-anticipated releases of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhas’ Salaar.
Director Prashanth Neel, following the triumph of the KGF franchise, gears up for ‘Salaar’ and has taken an early lead in the US market with the presales.
‘Salaar’ has already sold approximately 25,000 tickets, accumulating an impressive $650K ahead of its 21st December premiere.
RRR tops the list of highest-grossing Telugu films in North America/US in premieres. It collected $3.4 Million. Baahubali 2 was second grossing $2.45 Million, and Agnyaathvaasi third with $1.5 Million. Baahubali 1 and Khaidi No. 150 collected around $1.3 Million.
It is expected that Salaar would beat Agnyaathavaasi in the worst possible scenario and occupy the third place. If the hype picks up in the next few days it can even target Baahubali 2.
As the battle for box office supremacy unfolds, the industry watches closely to see where ‘Salaar’ will rank among the top 5 highest-grossing Telugu films in the US during premieres.
