US BO: Can VD Join The List Of All-Time Greats?

The last few weeks have been fruitful for the US box office as Bimbisara, Sitaramam, and Karthikeya 2 have turned out to be superhits. Now everyone has his eyes set on the next biggie, Liger.

Liger is being released on a huge scale with the maximum number of screens for a Tollywood movie. The Hindi version will also see a good release in terms of screens in the US.

The bookings have been opened in the US, and the response has been great so far. Already the film has collected around $175K, with close to 9,000 tickets sold in premiere advance sales.

There are very few stars who have collected $900K or more in premieres in North America. Prabhas has scored 3 times, while Mahesh Babu has done it 2 times. Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, NTR, Chiru have scored $900K premieres one time.

Now it would be sensational for Vijay Deverakonda if he could touch that magical figure with Liger. It’s difficult for a tier-2 hero to achieve that milestone, but with the kind of hype and buzz Liger has, it is not entirely impossible.
