US BO: Its Evaru All The Way

Two notable films released for the Independence Day weekend in the Telugu states and the US. They are Ranarangam and Evaru. The former is a bigger budget Sharwanand, Kajal and Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer gangster drama, whereas the latter is a small budget thriller featuring Adivi Sesh and Regina Cassandra.

At the US box office, the small budget thriller is showing better trend and pacing. The movie premiered on Wednesday with around $61K. On Friday, it has got more than that with the final number coming in about $73K. It suggests a positive trend and word of mouth for the thriller among the audience. Overall, Evaru starring Adivi Sesh has collected $177,336 so far.

Coming to Ranarangam, it has been precisely an opposite trending. The movie started on the back foot with no premieres. It then opened with around $24K on Thursday and the instead of showing a jump, the collections dropped further on Friday. The total collection so far is $41,056.

Evaru is going to be another profit-making venture for Adivi Sesh after Goodachari. He seems to be specialising in the thriller genre. The buyers aren’t complaining as long as he manages to get the crowd into the cinemas.
