U.S BO: GodFather Should Erase Acharya Memories

Acharya will stand as a black mark in Chiranjeevi’s career. Despite the presence of Chiru and Ram Charan, Acharya posted abysmally poor numbers in the USA. The film closed with $985K in the USA and the fact that it didn’t even touch the million mark is a shocker for a Chiranjeevi starrer.

Now the onus is on Chiranjeevi to undo the Acharya debacle at the earliest. Well, he will indeed take a shot at it with GodFather which is lined up for release on the 5th of October.

Chiru’s previous films Khaidi No. 150 and Sye Raa both did pretty well at the USA box office but Acharya was a mega disaster. So, Chiru will have to erase Acharya’s memories with GodFather.

GodFather will need to have a strong start to the USA premieres and post good numbers even before the first premiere begins. So, the pre-release buzz and the word of mouth from the early premieres will hold the key. The pre-release event, and the trailer that will be unveiled today will almost mark the end of promotions in India.

Godfather is the Telugu remake of Lucifer and it has Chiru, Salman, and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The film will compete with Ghost on the 5th of November.
