Sunday Surprise: US BO Boost

Tomorrow (Sunday) marks National Cinema Day in the U.S., with major chains such as Cinemark and AMC participating in an exciting offer for movie lovers.

Nearly all major chains are providing movie tickets at the reduced price of $4. This is even more affordable than the usual Tuesday offer, which tends to attract more audiences to Telugu films on Tuesdays.

A glance at the bookings reveals that recent releases “Gandeevadhari Arjuna” and “Bedurulanka 2012” are achieving significant occupancy on Sunday due to this offer. Otherwise, Sundays are usually considered slow at the U.S. box office.

This offer is unexpectedly boosting new releases that have received mixed reviews.
