Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s production Romanchakam turned out to be a disaster at the box office. It became the first failure for Vanga.

Vanga had strongly promoted the film before its release. During the promotions, Sandeep Vanga described Romanchakam as a refreshing and genuine comedy that personally entertained him. He asked audiences to give the film two to three hours of their time and promised that they would thoroughly enjoy it and have a good laugh. He even suggested that viewers would want to come back for repeat watches.

But the audience response was completely different.

The film received extremely mixed reactions, with viewers finding the comedy, thriller and romance elements far less effective than the promotional buildup suggested. What was presented as a refreshing entertainer ended up becoming a disappointing theatrical experience for many.

Now, another SS Rajamouli is presenting Fahadh Faasil’s Don’t Trouble the Trouble, which is scheduled to release on October 2, 2026. Speaking at the film’s pre-release event in Chennai, Rajamouli revealed that he was deeply moved when he watched an early cut.

Interestingly, he said Fahadh’s performance was powerful enough to make him both laugh and cry. Rajamouli also said that the film is not meant only for children but for everyone, and expressed hope that audiences would love it as much as he did.

That naturally raises an interesting question.

Will Rajamouli’s judgement prove to be right this time?

Vanga’s confidence in Romanchakam became a talking point after the film turned out to be a disaster. Now Rajamouli is putting his credibility behind Don’t Trouble the Trouble with equally strong praise.

If Don’t Trouble the Trouble works, Rajamouli’s early judgement will receive another strong validation. If the film disappoints, social media will inevitably bring up the Romanchakam episode and question whether even the biggest filmmakers can sometimes get carried away by their own products and lose their sense of judgement.

October 2 will provide the real answer.
