Varun Tej discusses how OTT deadlines are affecting film post-production.

OTT deadlines are becoming nightmares for producers. With producers locking OTT deals well in advance and announcing release dates months ahead, filmmakers are often left racing against time to complete post-production work. Actor Varun Tej has now opened up about the challenges of completing a film under such tight schedules.

Varun Tej revealed that many actors don’t even know how their final film has shaped up by the time they begin release promotions. He said, “By the time promotions begin, no hero has complete clarity on how the final copy has turned out. Because of OTT deadlines, post-production isn’t getting enough time. Ideally, a film should have at least three months for post-production. For one of my films, there were just 35 days between the last day of shooting and the release. There was no clarity on how the film had finally come out.”

Varun Tej’s remarks have struck a chord with many in the industry, reigniting the debate over whether the race to meet release dates and OTT commitments is compromising the quality of films.
