Venkatesh Missed the Original as He Was Unwell

Venkatesh’s upcoming sports drama ‘Guru’ is going to hit theatres this Friday. It;s the remake of Tamil film ‘Irudhi Sutru’ starring Madhavan in the lead. Initially, the script came up to him three years ago. He couldn’t say yes to director Sudha Kongara.

The reason was his health. He was unwell at that point of time and can’t take up a physically challenging role which needs a strong body to portray a washed-up boxing coach. However, he is happy for doing the remake. Venkatesh is proud to play his age in ‘Guru’. The trailer increased our expectations on the movie by the virtue of Venkatesh’s performance as a tough coach.

For Venkatesh, box-office numbers are just business and he doesn’t take them too seriously. He wants his film to run only when it is good. Just for the sake of figures, he doesn’t want to force his fans to watch his films if the content isn’t appealing. He understands the number game and hence wants his fans to see films only as a part of their lives. Well said Venky!
