Vidya’s loss is Kangana’s gain

Vidya Balan and Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh recently started working on Hindi thriller called ‘Durga Rani Singh’. There was a lot of buzz around this film because it was a very successful combination. But the latest news is that Kangana Ranaut, who is high on the success of ‘Queen’, has replaced her in the film. The reason being Vidya is soon planning to take maternal leave and therefore didn’t want her director struggle without her.

Since Vidya was not sure if she can hold on till the completion of the film, she has bailed out on Sujoy Ghosh and has taken her maternity break. Kangana has filled in her shoes. Sujoy was convinced with Kangana after he saw her performance in Queen, and was completely blown over. It’s not just Sujoy, post Queen, any script with sheer acting prowess, odds are in the favour of Kangana, who has proved herself as an actress to look forward to with Queen.

How many more such opportunities will Vidya lose going forward? Official confirmation on the replacement is yet to come in but this seems to be a likely situation.
