Deverakonda Vs Nama: What’s The Real Story?

Vijay Deverakonda announced a one-crore donation to support his fans from his remuneration for Kushi, triggering instant reactions yesterday.

Today much to the shock, Abhishek Nama of Abhishek Pictures dashed an open letter to Vijay Deverakonda. He had been the distributor for Vijay’s film ‘World Famous Lover’ and lost 8 Crore. He asked Vijay to share the same empathy with the families of distributors and exhibitors who lost money.

We tried to understand what went wrong between Abhishek and Deverakonda.

“I lost 8 Crore on World Famous Lover. I approached Vijay’s people to do a film for me. I am ready to give whatever remuneration he charges. So that I can cover the losses. But they said they are not doing films for Telugu producers and will work only for Hindi producers. This is during Liger time,” Abhishek Nama said.

There is an argument that the producer should be liable for the losses of a film, not the hero. But then, WFL producer KS Ramarao is also undergoing financial distress.

Abhishek Nama also responded to it. “I am not asking Vijay to compensate for the losses of WFL. I just asked him to do a film for me so that I can recover for the losses. He need not even reduce his remuneration. I am ready to pay whatever the market is. How is that wrong?” he asks. 

Liger issue is not solved yet and the old issue of World Famous Lover also came up now.
