Vijaya Nirmala is one of the very few successful lady directors in Telugu. She entered the Tollywood in 1957 as a child artiste in the evergreen hit Panduranga Mahatmyam, made her debut as director with the film Meena in Telugu. So far, she had directed 44 films in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. The veteran actress and director is reportedly gearing up to complete the rest of six movies and bag the record of first lady director to complete 50 movies.
This was announced by herself in a media interaction. She also revealed that she will be making movies on joint families. Also added that it is the success of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu which had given confidence that good movies would definitely work. Today is the Birthday of Vijaya Nirmala.
