Vijayawada Metro has no problems with Power!

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is all set to submit the Detailed Project Report of the proposed Metro Rail Project in Vijayawada and the brainstroming regarding the Power supply is also being done simultaneously. Setting up of an exclusive sub-station for the Metro project or providing dedicated power lines from the Transco infrastructure are the two options for Power supply to the project.

Experts feel that Vijayawada Metro is not as big as the ones in Delhi or Hyderabad, there might be no need for separate sub-stations or a relatively fewer number could be needed. But Separate sub-stations will be very costly affair and Power officials are mooting for the idea of dedicated lines.

Whatever may be the option supplying nonstop power will not be a problem for the Power surplus state. The final decision regarding this will taken after DMRC finalizes the power requirement for the project.
