Actress Exposes Drug Users on Set: No Compromise!

Malayalam film actress Vincy Aloshious has raised universal controversies after making the declaration not to act with actors who take drugs on the set.

At the anniversary ceremony of the KCYM Ernakulam-Angamaly Major Archdiocese, she unequivocally said, “If I know that the person is taking drugs, I will not act in any movie with that person.”

Vincy subsequently explained her stance on social media, posting a disturbing experience on a set. She revealed one of the lead actors, who was said to be on drugs, behaved improperly, making the work environment tense.

At one point, the actor insisted on going with her to fix a costume issue, something she described as disturbing. She also recalled having witnessed a white substance flow from his mouth in rehearsals, determining that he was under drugs.

“It’s one thing to do drugs in your own life, but when it creeps into the workplace, it’s unacceptable,” she said. Acknowledging her professional risks, Vincy asserted she made the decision based on self-respect and professionalism.

Her blunt statements come in the wake of mounting concern in the Malayalam cinema community about abuse of substances, which has come under scrutiny following recent reports of alleged drug abuse episodes.

Others have welcomed her stance of principle as a step in the right direction towards creating a safer and more respectful work culture.
