Content-driven films are ruling the roost these days. Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej is trying his hand at it with his next film, Virupaksha. The trailer for the film dropped a short while ago.

The trailer starts with Sai Tej entering a remote village that is gripped with fear from mystical forces and paranormal occurrences. He then comes across the female lead, played by Samyuktha Menon, who is evidently playing a meaty role in the film, going by the trailer. What follows is a tale of mystery, action, and love.

The strange incidents in the village petrify the locals as they run for help. What are these mystical creations? How can Sai aka Virupaksha be the designated saviour? These are the questions posed in the trailer and they will be answered on the big screens.

There is good technical finesse in terms of visual composition and background score. These will be very important to create a lasting impression once the film hits the big screens.

Films on this theme are rare to come by. So, a lot will depend on the drama factor and the thrilling elements if Virupaksha is to connect with the Telugu audience. Nativity and novelty will hold the key for this film. These folklore subjects tend to get patronage only if they tick all the right boxes.

The film is directed by Karthik Dandu and the screenplay is by Sukumar, so there’s good promise on this front. SVCC have produced the film and it is releasing on the 21st of April.
